Cyprus is easy and affordable to reach by plane from Russia, CIS countries, Israel, and most of Europe.
Once you’re on the island, it’s best to travel by car, taxi, or with friends.

Visa requirements depend on your passport and where you’re flying from.
In most cases, getting a visa for Cyprus is straightforward and takes around 21 days.

Cyprus has a mild Mediterranean climate.
In mid-October, while most of the northern hemisphere is cooling down, Cyprus offers warm sunny days and cool breezy evenings — perfect for a weekend under the stars.

We love children and animals.
But this year’s setup can’t provide the safety or interactivity needed for little ones and furry friends.
So for 2025, we kindly ask you to leave your junior family members at home.
(And we’re open to creating space for them in future editions 💛)

Nope.
You don’t need special skills or prior burner experience.
According to Burning Man principles, every participant is expected to be self-reliant and open to anything — but in truth, you’ll always find helping hands and friendly advice if needed.
Make friends. Ask questions. Offer support. You’ve got this.

The basics: tent, sleeping bag, comfortable clothes.
The essentials: outrageous costumes, reusable dishes, and a readiness for unexpected magic.
Wear comfortable shoes — there’s some small thorny vegetation on the ground.

For safety reasons, we don’t disclose the exact location of Kalimera — including GPS coordinates or the names of towns and villages.
Here’s what we can say for sure:
The site is located approximately 40 minutes’ drive from Limassol, toward the center of the island.

It’s private land, owned by our friends and Kalimera participants.

The location is confirmed and fully suitable for the event.

A few days before the event (exact date to be announced), we’ll send all participants who’ve made a contribution:

• GPS coordinates
• A detailed map and access instructions
• Navigation tips

The road to the event site is paved most of the way, turning into a dirt road closer to the place of Kalimera. The ground is solid and accessible for regular passenger vehicles — no special tires or off-road clearance required.

Only during the setup period (for camps, art projects, and logistics), limited internal roads on-site will be open for vehicles transporting large items.
❌ During the main event, vehicles will not be allowed to drive inside the Kalimera territory.
Instead, we will provide a small internal shuttle service to help transport your luggage and people from the parking area to the camping zones.

Yes, we will have a designated parking area — it’s spacious and will be managed by a parking and vehicle coordination team to avoid any chaos or traffic buildup.

No. There’s no extra fee for bringing a car or using the parking area.

The Kalimera site is typical of the Cypriot mountain region — gentle hills with flat patches suitable for camps and installations. It’s not exactly a desert, but during the day the white limestone rocks heat up and give the area a desert-like appearance.

There’s some vegetation and a few scattered trees around the site. While it’s mostly open and sun-exposed, there are a few shaded spots available. If your project requires specific tree coverage (for shade, hammocks, rigging, etc.), this can be discussed with your camp or art curator.

The terrain is rocky and made of limestone — solid and firm underfoot. It’s not suitable for digging large holes or using power augers. However, small structures, tents, and light installations can be safely set up.

There are no swimming spots within walking distance or a short drive from the camp.
That said — this is Cyprus! The island is full of natural and historical landmarks. While nothing is immediately nearby, within a 20 km radius you’ll definitely find something worth exploring.
If you’re into hiking, there are some small hills and slopes around the site that can be climbed for a nice view and a moment of peace.

We will provide biotoilet cabins, placed in several locations around the site. These units will be serviced and cleaned regularly throughout the event by a professional sanitation crew.
⚠️ Due to the nature of the soil and our strong commitment to the Leave No Trace principle, please do not dig pit latrines or small holes, even for minor needs.
Everyone must use either the official toilets or personal portable solutions.
🧻 All shared toilet cabins will be stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
🧼 As for a separate hand-washing station — this is not confirmed yet. We are doing our best to make it happen and will keep you updated. 

There are no stationary power sources nearby.
We allow the use of generators. However, we cannot yet confirm whether time restrictions will be applied.
You may use your personal vehicle batteries for charging. We kindly ask you to follow all necessary safety precautions.
Centralized power supply is not planned.

Mobile signal in this area ranges from weak to moderate, depending on the operator and device.
Wi-Fi is not available and is not planned.

We rely fully on your self-reliance when it comes to tools, supplies, and any resources you need for your art, camp, or personal setup.
There will be no shared or communal tool station at the event — please bring everything you may need.

No — there is no on-site equipment rental.
However, Cyprus has many rental shops where you can easily find power tools, hand tools, building materials, and camping gear. 

📦 Delivery services do not operate in this area.
However, if you manage to arrange a private delivery on your own, you are free to do so — but please note: during the event, vehicle access is restricted. Any delivery can only reach the parking area.

🚗 Yes, you are allowed to leave and return at any time if you need to replenish food, water, or other supplies.
However, we strongly encourage you to plan carefully — both resources and logistics.
There may be traffic jams when entering or exiting, and unnecessary movement may cause delays for you and others.

We do not provide drinking water for camps or participants.
Each camp lead and participant is expected to plan and bring their own drinking water supply.
We won’t be providing centralized drinking water at the event, so please make sure to bring your own supply.
As organizers, we cannot take on responsibility for maintaining large amounts of potable water that meet safety and quality standards — especially given the current climate conditions and public health concerns.
That said, if you face an emergency — we’ll be there to help.

It depends on your needs and habits, but as a general guideline:
👉 at least 3 liters per person per day for drinking, plus extra for cooking, hygiene, and staying fresh.
We recommend doing a quick estimate based on your personal habits — and maybe even bringing a little more, just in case.

Yes. We plan to provide 1–2 stations with technical water, suitable for washing dishes, hands, or feet.

No, Kalimera does not provide centralized catering for all participants.
Responsibility for food lies with the participants themselves and their camp leads.
Each camp decides independently how to organize meals for their members — through shared shopping, a communal kitchen, or individual cooking.

Yes, we plan to set up a communal cooking area.
It will be a designated space equipped for safe cooking with gas burners.
More details will be shared closer to the event.

✅ Yes — but only in the designated, equipped communal kitchen area.
❌ No — using gas burners in camp areas outside the communal kitchen is not allowed.

Any form of open fire is strictly prohibited outside specially designated zones.
This restriction is due to fire safety, local environmental conditions, and our shared responsibility toward the land and each other.
That said, we may grant permission for fires in specific zones — but only if they are:

• properly equipped
• meet safety requirements
• marked on the map
• inspected before the event starts

Each camp must assign a fire safety lead.
We strongly recommend having the following on-site:

• a fire extinguisher
• a bucket or container with sand
• or other basic fire suppression means

A mandatory fire safety briefing will be organized for all participants closer to the event — especially for camp and art project leads.

The closest clinic is located 15 minutes away by car from the event site.

During setup and teardown, first aid supplies will be available at HQ.
During the event itself, professional medical staff will be on duty on site, ready to assist if needed.

All emergency services (ambulance, fire, etc.) are 15 minutes away by car.
In addition, on-site medical and fire response teams will be present throughout the event.

Yes, we have an evacuation plan prepared.
A safety and emergency response briefing will be held before the event for all camp leads.

We’re currently working on the placement of camps and aim to make sure everyone has enough space and comfort.
If your camp requires a special location, unusual size, or isolated setup — please let your camp curator know as soon as possible so we can take it into account.

There are several existing structures on site that will serve as shared community spaces — like the Central Camp
However, we strongly recommend bringing your own shade structures or tents, especially for daytime comfort.

We do not prohibit anything that is not restricted by Cypriot law.
Kalimera is an 18+ event, and we will strictly enforce this rule.
However, we cannot guarantee that every interaction will be 100% age checked.
So, if you’re planning to run a bar or simply offer a drink to a new friend — please make sure they are of legal age.

Yes! The landscape is great for loud parties, and we’d love to hear your sound systems pumping.
But — we also want everyone to rest. There will be designated quiet hours for collective downtime.

We trust camp leaders to resolve this issue respectfully and independently. 
Our placement team will help with comfortable accommodation, but final coordination is up to you.
